Victorian Gold And White Teacup and Saucer. English Victorian China Tea Cup Duo. Antique Gold And White Tea Set, For A Very Pretty Tea Party

Description ~

This English teacup and saucer is a true antique from the Victorian era. The beautifully simple and elegant transfer printed gold pattern and gold floral motif at the centre of the saucer and bottom of the teacup, along with a lovely rippled sauced and footed teacup, makes for a very beautiful and high Victorian teacup and saucer. The gold really stands out against the white of the china. There is no maker's mark, but, it is highly likely that this teacup and saucer was manufactured in Stoke-On-Trent, the heart of the English potteries. This teacup and saucer is a beautiful example of an English tea party table setting serving plate from Victorian England. Elegant and eye catching, this pretty design is just as lovely and desirable today as when it was made in the nineteenth century. The fancy wide open shape of the teacup and moulded effect throughout the cup and saucer helps the gold pattern and rim gilding catch the light. White tea sets are never out of fashion and always work in a home from any era, contemporary or period. This teacup feels very special to use indeed. This teacup and saucer would stand out proudly on your tea table and would also display beautifully. It is perfect for serving tea at a quintessentially English teatime.

A lovely gift for any occasion, especially to a tea drinking or for a birthday or Mother's Day.

Perfect for a tea set or antique china collector, or as a gift to someone who loves tea, cake and pretty china!

Condition ~

In antique condition. There is a rubbing to the gilded pattern in places, as can be seen in the photos, but overall the pattern is still in lovely and bright condition. There is some very minor and very faint all over crazing to the glaze, which is perfectly commensurate with due to this set's great age and does not affect soundness or usability. There are no cracks or chips, as far as I can see. There are some tiny flecks and marks in the china underneath the glaze, which are very unnoticeable and would have occurred at the point of manufacture, reflecting this set's age and character. Please ask you would like any further photos and please remember that this teacup is well over 120 years old and therefore cannot be in pristine 'brand new condition', but it is in lovely antique condition, which reflects its age, history and character and it is perfectly usable. Any further wear or marks are commensurate with age.
