I knew that Grandma loved going to school as a child. She taught school in a one room school house later after teacher's college.....THAT'S how much she loved school! The red and blue bookmark type awards were Grandma's from her teacher for perfect attendance. One dates from 1938 and other is from 1937. (These each measure approximately 5.25 inches by 2.25 inches).

The smaller floral awards were given to Grandma's Dad, (my Great Grandpa). He must have been a good student also! Grandpa would have been awarded these between 1906 and and 1908. (These each measure approximately 4 inches by 2.75 inches).

Considering that they didn't have the easiest way to school like we do these days, this was quite an accomplishment to have good or perfect attendance! (This would have been in either Minnesota or Iowa, and you can just imagine how difficult getting to school was in the winter, all the way from the farm!)

Fun collector's pieces! Great vintage ephemera!

Grandma kept everything, and I can't enjoy it all myself, so I'll share with you on GreenGablesLane.etsy.com

Best Wishes,
