I wrapped a filigree brass piece around a tiny working telescope and suspended it from an even smaller compass to make this fun necklace. The tiny red compass is attached to a piece of mica that I set in Victoria style brass drop. The compass does point north and the spyglass actually magnifies a tiny amount.

When closed, the telescope is 1-5/8" (40mm) long; it opens up to 3-1/8" (80mm). It hangs on an antiqued brass chain that closes with a lobster clasp on one end and an extender chain finished with a filigree drop on the other. The extender chain lets one wear this necklace from 26” – 30” (66cm – 76cm) long.

Please be sure to measure on yourself to see where this will fall (a piece of string cut to length works well for this purpose). This is a long necklace that will fall below the bust line on most women and mid-chest on most men.
