Classic basic black maillot from my personal collection of vintage swimwear. One piece swimsuit features corded trim around the neckline, built in bra style cups, a plunging back and skirted hemline in front.

Labeled: Fully Fashioned Darlene 13-14* The Fit Is Knit Right In. MADE IN USA Darlex fashioned Ban-Lon

*Do you know about vanity sizing? There was once a store called I.Magnin. Here in Portland, Oregon a lady of the mid 20th Century might wear a size 12 when she purchased things at Meier and Frank. At I. Magnin the same woman would wear a size 8. Many women were dedicated I. Magnin shoppers simply because of size. And so began the race to the bottom. They are just numbers ladies. Get out your tape measure and use the measurements provided below. An inch is always an inch an no matter your body type or weight.

I do not pin clothing on models, but prefer instead to show you my garments on people they actually fit. My measurements at the time of this shoot were 40-32-41 and I stand 5'10" tall.
-Bust: 39"-42" Could probably stretch further. The front has been stitched closed and could be opened to the bottom of the cups, center front for more room in the bust.
-Waist: 32"- 38"
-Hip: 38"- 44"
-Rise to center front: 22"

Very Good condition rating a 7 out of 10 with a few flaws to note. This suit is a little stretched out. Particularly at the skirted hem. The elastic should be replaced in the hemline, but I don't work with knits, so it's up to you. The front has been slightly altered to accommodate a smaller bust. I never noticed before, but upon inspection of this suit when I was deciding which suits to keep and which to sell revealed that the center front has been stitched closed. Today I looked a little closer and noticed the buttons have also been moved in the front, but it appears that the loops used to close the button holes are still there, so if you found this to be too fitted in the bust, it should just require pulling out the hand stitches and resewing the buttons where you'd like them.
