These sterling silver earrings are completely handmade an embody the southwestern spirit and style that is alive in my home State of New Mexico. The backing plate was hand sawed from 18 gauge sterling silver using a fine jewelry saw. I soldered a cast sterling silver flower to the center of both plates and applied a patina to oxidize the sterling silver, thereby creating the shadows, highlights, and grey hues.

Setting the genuine green jade was the final step before polishing. Stones are always set in the final stage of production to avoid chemical and mechanical damage to the stone. The earrings were brushed for a rich burnished finish and the result is a beautiful pair of southwestern dangle earrings that resemble the New Mexico landscape. The gray brushed finish represent the windswept barren deserts, while the green jades pick up the colors of the high alpine forests.

The earrings measure approximately 1 1/3 inches long and the ear wires are hypoallergenic. Custom orders are gladly accepted and I look forward to transforming your design ideas into unique pieces of jewelry.

These earrings can also be made in bronze and copper for $60.00.
