William Morris (1834-1896) was a British artist, designer, and writer who played a significant role in the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century. Morris was born in Walthamstow, England, and showed an early interest in the decorative arts, becoming an apprentice to Gothic revival architect G.E. Street at the age of seventeen.

In 1861, Morris founded Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. (later known as Morris & Co.), a decorative arts company that produced furniture, stained glass, wallpaper, and other home furnishings. Morris's designs were characterized by their intricate patterns, natural forms, and medieval influences.

Morris's influence on design was far-reaching, and his ideas helped shape the Arts and Crafts movement, which advocated for the value of handmade goods and traditional craftsmanship in an age of mass-produced goods. He believed that the decorative arts should be accessible to everyone and that good design could improve people's lives.

Today, William Morris's designs remain popular and continue to inspire artists and designers around the world. His influence can be seen in a wide range of design styles, from Art Nouveau to contemporary graphic design.

The very best customer service. Loved the item, but before I took it out of the cellophane I saw another that has the colors I prefer. Both are beautiful, but wanted the second one that somehow I missed. David and Alexandra are almost like family. Lovely. They made it a pleasure to do business with them. Will keep them in mind for gifts, etc.
