I learned to do the toothbrush rug on my own a few years ago by reading a pattern on the subject. When I finished my first rug, I re-read the pattern and discovered that I was doing the loop rug technique differently from the directions. Was I doing it wrong? I went on-line and discovered that I was doing the right stitch but I just did it in a different way (most patterns out there show a two part stitch and I do a one part stitch - a buttonhole stitch) . So I continued making rugs doing it my way. Then I started giving lessons in the technique and used the pattern I learned from and had to tell my students to turn the instructions upside-down or sideways to see the way I was teaching them. This became very tiresome and confusing so I decided to write my own pamphlet on the loop rug technique. This pamphlet is very different from the pamphlets out there that are teaching the " toothbrush" or loop rug technique. I decided to explain every step with a picture to show what I am talking about. I also give much more information about what you will experience while you are making your rug. There are many other things you can make with this technique; coasters, place mats, hot pads, table runners, bowls, baskets and purses. I will be working on these patterns soon along with different shapes. These rugs are easy to make. I use 100% cotton but other fabrics can be used. It takes about 8-9 yards of fabric for an average size rug. They are machine washable and dryable and the technique is very easy on your hands. I must also let you know that making them is very addicting. Be sure to buy a needle, it is in one of my other listings! Love those LOOPS!

Really nice "toothbrush", it feels good in your hand and is easy to use. I find it much better then a toothbrush!
