Bear art, a tree, wood carving, log cabin decor, Valentines day, Whimsical art, gift for wedding, rustic home decor, I'm calling "Bearly Dancin' ". These Bears are getting' down. They really know how to Boogie! Bird is being a happy spectator keeping a close eye on the Bear below. The setting is a wonderful ravine with a large tree dominating the scene. I love these bear scenes. It's like something is going on that I want to be a part of. "Bearly Dancin" measures 16" tall x 9 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" thick.

The technique I use is called Pierced Relief. It is carved out of one piece of wood and nothing is added. I have been carving since 1971 and a tree was the first carving I did. I have always been stimulated to carve a resemblance of a tree out of a tree. My technique has evolved over all of these years to what you see here. I keep seeing ways to make things more life like. And I love a piece to look like it is in the middle of a story that each observer can make up. Sometimes a different story each time we look at it and sometimes the same one. I love giving a piece the feeling of action. Sometimes tranquil and sometimes playful. I love it all.

It's carved out of Big Leaf Maple Burl. It's really a burly piece with lots of figure to the grain. The grain is truly mesmerizing. A burl is usually caused by a trees reaction to an aggro-bacteria. It starts sending out a huge number of buds showing birds eye grain through out the burl. It is very unusual and is very interesting to look at.

I am a self taught carver. I love evolving and observing the changes that go on with my work many times mimicking my own changes.

Shipping is included in all of my work.

Frequently asked questions about TreeWizWoodCarvings

All of my carvings have a lacquer finish. Dusting with a feather duster or blowing off with a compressor is all that is necessary on the carved trees, fish and carved faces. I use Orange oil on the smooth surfaces. This will perk them up. I would do it as often as you polish your furniture. Once a month would keep them looking great but is not necessary.
I will contact you as soon as I get your order. I will package it that day or the next. I take it to the Post Office the next morning. If I get an order on Friday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday it will be in Monday mornings mail.
I use Priority United States postal service mail.
I do ship outside of the US. I need to know the carving that you are interested in and your complete shipping address. I will figure what it costs to ship to your address and make the changes to the listing so that you can make the purchase.
