Looking for an easy way to plan your day with the kids? Try color coding!
Use the colored boxes to list out the things you'd like to do with the kids during the day. I like to think of them as blocks of time and I choose things like: fine motor, building, outside, eat, chores, screen time, art, writing, math, reading, etc. Once I have picked everything I'd like to do, I plan the day on the clock. I write out times in each colored block and then go up to the clock and color in the coresponding time. The kids can go check the schedule and see exactly what their day will look like, when they will be doing schooling, when to expect to go outside, etc. This takes all the questions out of the day and this has helped my oldest kiddo to stop asking about screen time. He just looks at the schedule and knows exactly when it will be and for how long.
Children thrive with consistency and scheduling and a visual schedule like this one makes everyone's lives easier. Parents can plan ahead (in a simple way- check out what I wrote in the example photo, very little prep work involved) and kids know just what to expect out of their day. Always explain that adaptations may need to occur as life can never be perfectly planned out, but rest assured your color coded clock will alleviate stress and confusion for one and all!
If you're suddenly homeschooling, this is the perfect way to plan your day. No experience necessary to plan like a teacher :)
