This is a gorgeous mid century modern Zeuthen art pottery bowl. It is made of red clay; the interior glaze and exterior decoration are white.

It is in good vintage condition, with some crazing, marks (e.g. a small rectangle of sticker residue) and imperfections (e.g. pockmarks in the glaze). There is a hairline crack on the outside of the bowl; it is not visible on the inside. This bowl is approx. 1.75" (4.4 cm) tall and approx. 4.75" (12.1 cm) across.

Nordisk Brugskunst ( Nordic Applied Art) was founded in Denmark c. 1946 by Normann Zeuthen; in 1948, he introduced the name "Zeuthen Keramik". Zeuthen employed 10-15 employees who produced a variety of red clay items. Zeuthen pieces are very distinctive with their globular white and/or blue decorations; they are also highly collectible.
