This batik is a hand-stamped cap-sleeved womens shirt. I carve my stamps out of wood, and use them to stamp hot wax on item which protects the cloth from dye. I began with a white shirt that I dyed blue, then I stamped it to protect the blue. Then I dyed it black, which turned a charcoal grey. The stamp is an Adinkra symbol from the Ashanti nation (Ghana). It means "the Supremacy of God."
