This piece is lovely, and a bit of a mystery. It features the Roman god Mercury (or the Greek god Hermes) with winged sandals & hat and carrying a caduceus. Beside the figure (which is raised) there are the words "Mest. Palk. 24-6-22". It's not an Olympic medal, but they were held in June of 1924, so perhaps this was given or worn for good luck? This was on a large 14kt gold chain when I found it, so someone thought it was quite special.

. The mark on the back is only about half there, but I do make out the words "Union Made" and what looks like a fist to me.. There is some blackening behind the words, but I believe this was intentional.
