The Pomona Pants + Shorts are elastic waist, high rise and loose fitting. They feature no side seams and include patch pockets on the front or back. The waistband is created by folding over the top edge of the pants, which eliminates the extra bulk you would get from a separate waistband seam. View A is a wide leg, ankle length sailor pant with one patch pocket on the back. View B is a loose tapered leg, ankle length pant, also with one patch pocket on the back. View C is the companion shorts to view A, with a 5” inseam and has two patch pockets on the front. This design was drafted for woven non-stretch fabrics.

When you purchase this pattern, you will receive a digital (PDF) sewing pattern and instructions. Once your payment processes, you will automatically receive a link to download the pattern files. If you have any problem accessing the files, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

After downloading the files to your computer, you can print out the pattern using your home printer. The pattern pages are formatted to fit US standard page size (8.5” x 11”) as well as A4 page size (8.26” x 11.69”). Be sure the printer settings are set to “actual size” and only print the first page that includes the test square before printing the rest of the pattern. Measure the test square with a ruler to be sure the pattern pages will print accurately. If the measurements are correct, go ahead and print the entire pattern. Assemble the printed pattern by cutting out the pattern pieces and matching them together by the letters and numbers that are marked on each pattern (“1A” to “1A”, “1B” to “1B” etc.) and then taping them together.

Made these pants to have something nice and cool throughout the summer. So happy i got this pattern. I can make countless pants with lots of prints. Instructions were pretty easy for me to read. I am a beginner tho! Sizes are true to fit as well. I went along with b panel and if came out great! Brought it up more since I’m petite

So good! I was terrified of trying to make pants again because of a REALLY badly failed attempt a couple years ago that resulted in $45 worth of linen out the door. The fact that there is no side seam and they’re elastic waisted makes them a dream to make. I got them done in only a couple of hours and will be making them over and over. My first attempt was a denim and went super well- turned out beautiful. My second attempt was with a mid weight linen in the same size and they weren’t flattering at all so for lighter weight materials, I’d recommend sizing up a size- otherwise stick w the recommended fabrics.

Love these! I made up two pairs as my first adult bifurcated garment. So easy to put together, and it's only two pattern pieces (four if you make the pockets) so it's easy cutting. My first pair came out huge on me, so I sized down and lowered the rise a tiny bit and my second pair was much better- definitely follow Anna's advice about figuring out sizing based on the stretched waist measurement relative to your hips.
