Created from gloriously girlie lipstick and rouge colored tshirts, this one of a kind rag rug was crocheted with happiness and joy. It is 38-inches in diameter (flat side to point), composed of 16 tshirts, and insists on being a pentagram. With patience, blocking, stretching and pulling, it could be coaxed into a circle... but I believe it would revert to its natural shape when you weren't looking.

I loved creating this rug. The colors absolutely sang to me of femininity, anticipation, first dates and hushed secrets. I remember my Gramma putting on her rouge, lipstick and stockings before she went anywhere. And she always wore earrings. This rug is dedicated to her, in all of her girlie glory.

I use previously worn, clean tshirts - some with side seams and some without, some smooth and some with ribbing. I believe the side seams and ribbing add texture and depth to the work, as well as character and uniqueness. Sometimes, an interesting tag will find its way to the front, but you can easily maneuver it to the back if you prefer.

I am happy to take custom orders, but have realized - other than bleached white - it is impossible to create a rug in exactly the same shade of exactly the same color due to fading differences. Convo me if you have an idea you'd like me to try!

Tshirt rugs can be washed in the washing machine, and dried in the dryer. I prefer to let mine dry flat in the sunshine so I can reshape them as needed.

The remnants of my rag rugs go on to become dog toys, applique scraps and carpet padding. Thanks for looking. Peace and Blessings to you!
