This vintage 1949 RCA Victor model 8-X-542 tube radio has a painted, ivory, bakelit casing. It is in good working condition, playing am stations, just as it did 62 years ago! It has been refurbished, and given a new, two pronged, electrical cord. Electrolytic capacitors have also been replaced. These represent the primary wearout mechanism in the electronics portion, and is is why most old radios sound scratchy. This radio is 10 1/4 inches wide, 7 inches tall, and 5 3/4 inches deep including the dial on front. The back panel easily removes to reveal the workings inside.
