Many people have made this theme of Pandas for a baby quilt. Babies love contrasting colors, especially black and white. Pandas are cute, my pandas are not cutesy. So your child could grow up with this quilt and not be embarrassed as a teenager for loving this baby quilt. I used iridescent glass beads for the eyes, you could use French knots for safety. The pandas and bamboo stalks are satin stitched on the sewing machine, using fusible web. The bamboo leaves are fused together and then cut out and stitched down the center so they stand off the quilt a little bit.

This quilt pictured measures 28" x 37". You could make it larger by adding more non-appliqued blocks to your layout.
