I made this brooch for an EtsyMetal challenge (Project Runaway) in which we had to make a piece of jewelry incorporating newsprint. This brooch represents the state of the media of the world these days. The news is crumpled up tight, tucked, and hidden safely behind the silver wire mesh so we can watch, read, and listen to other happier and safer entertainment, and not be depressed by what is really happening and be aware of the devastating domestic and foreign policies and decisions our elected government officials are taking in our name.
I hand fabricated this brooch using foldforming techniques with thin (24 gauge/ 0.5 mm) sheet of copper, sterling silver wire for the mesh, newsprint, and a handmade pin system made with stainless steel. The copper is oxidized to a gunmetal patina, and sealed with beeswax.
Measurements: 2 1/2" x 3/4" x 3/4" (6.5 cm x 2 cm x 2 cm)
This brooch (and all of my jewelry) comes inside a pretty gift box tied with a satin/organza ribbon and ready for gift giving.
I can make this brooch in sterling silver. Contact me for a pricing and more details.
Note: The brooch you'll receive is the one pictured above.

I ship to the address you provided to Etsy, not PayPal. Please make sure this address is current and correct.
Orders are shipped from Argentina, so allow approximately 20 days arrival from date of payment. I ship my orders by air through Correo Argentino (Argentine Post Office). I use "Pequeños Paquetes Certificados" which requires a signature. If nobody is home to sign for the package, you might have to make a trip to the post office.
