About This Image:

"Who Paints Reality?"

I rarely remember my dreams. Only sleeping around 5-6 hours a night may have something to do with it. Or maybe it is just the way my brain fires into overdrive when I wake up from sleep. It never has a chance to settle into where it has been.

Or maybe it is, in part, that I think that the waking life IS the dream and the "reality" we are taught to subscribe to and strive for is often more of the illusion.

All the things we look to for those internal answers, I believe, are just cryptic road markers.
There to say "you are here" which, if we listen deep enough, we already know.

But like driving into a town you've never been to or down a road you don't recognize, it can be good to get the confirmation of where you are from something outside.

This image is just that. A marker. A descansos. Where I have been and what certain things meant at that place and time. It is just a dream of life. One of millions that exist, simultaneously, within each day.

Sometimes I can slow my brain down enough to allow my hand to create such a marker.

To paint this moment of reality. And then to recognize that it has gone.. .

Who Paints Reality?"

Glimpses of somewhere you have never been
But seem to know so well
Knowing the words a moment before they are spoken
Beginnings born of brilliant endings
Or something simpler
Like feeling the draw of a strange smile
That you seem to know so well
The touch
Those eyes
This feeling of magic
And then
As we always do
Forging straight into it like a freight train that you'll never hear coming
Full speed under the waiver of ownership or, at least
Your personal destiny
And once there
It is gone
Buried under the mountains you moved to be somewhere
That it turns out you have already been
That you already knew so well
The place where the endings
Wondrously interchangeable
Always wait~
