Serpentine, Twin-Tipped, Natural Wood Wand *Willow* for Lunar or Water Magic!

This wand features in a tresury by BeforeAfterNow here: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/MTQ0Nzg4NzB8NDU0MDU5MTg2/princess-blue

This is a beautifully wiggly wand made from the wood of a Willow tree. The variety of Willow that this piece came from is the type that has extremely twisted branches, growing in wild spirals and forming an interlaced tangle of foliage that's almost impossible to decipher. The tree grows next to the gate leading to a friend's stables, and a branch was broken by the feed lorry last summer, so of course I immediately claimed it! I've left the greenish bark intact to accentuate the snaky appearance, and it has twin tips to represent a forked tongue.

I think this wand has a lovely gentle feel to it, as well as a certain sensual quality. It also has a remarkably feminine air, and I don't think it would suit a man. I believe it would be perfect for circle casting, or creating sacred space for divination or healing rituals, and would be ideal for a woman of any age... especially one who likes snakes!

Willow is a very magical tree that increases psychic energy, so it’s excellent as a general purpose wand. It is believed to share the essence of snakes. It is useful for magic concerning healing and fertility, and it is said to aid divination and bring inspiration. Its powers are strongest at night, under the moon.

Size: Measured in a straight line, about seventeen inches long and no more than half an inch thick.
434mm x 9-12mm.

It will come with a list of the magical properties of the wood, a picture of the actual wand, consecration suggestions and care instructions.

Please be aware that some countries do not allow the importation of any wooden items that still have the bark attached. It is up to you to ensure that an item is not in breach of the customs regulations of your country before you buy.

All my wands are, by their very nature, unique. They are grown, not made. They are all formed from twigs and branches lost naturally by the native trees in and around the perimeter of my totally organic garden. The wood is collected, identified, and sorted, then stored for several months to ensure it is properly seasoned. Then it is smoothed into the right size and shape for that particular twig. Finally, each wand is given at least two coats of organic vegetable-derived oil to protect and nourish the wood. This oil contains no chemicals or preservatives and is exactly as it comes from the press. I will not cut trees to get the wood, and if I’ve used prunings I’ll say so. I will not use power tools of any kind, and I certainly won’t use any artificial chemical substances such as stain, dye, paint, or glue. If you like, you can embellish your wand in whatever way you choose, with paint, carving, cords, ribbons and crystals, but I leave them as pure and natural as possible while still being beautiful, practical and non-splintery. All wands will be given another coat of oil before dispatch, wrapped in paper, padded with shredded paper and posted with their relevant literature in a stout tube or custom made box to ensure safe arrival. All the packaging material can be recycled, so please dispose of it thoughtfully.
