This is one of the most beautiful mourning rings I've ever seen. It comes to us in time from the late eighteenth century, circa 1790. The simple elegant design is of a black enamel ring with a stylized drooping black lily on either shoulder. A domed rock crystal bezel shelters a tight braid of brunette hair.

There is wear to the crystal and the enamel, but it looks worse in my too-close reflective photos (my pics don't do this ring justice, it must be said).

This ring is very solid and heavy in construction, a high-quality piece! It comes to us from England.

Metal(s) Used: yellow gold
Hallmarks: none, tested and guaranteed to be 18K gold

Resizable? Not recommended but may be possible (by your local jeweler). Enamel at shoulders may make this problematic!
Setting Condition: Excellent! Some light normal wear and chipping to enamel, but the yellow gold setting is outstanding.

Frequently asked questions about AuldBaubles

Vintage/Antique baby/children's jewelry almost certainly does not meet metals safety standards for youngsters of today. Therefore I can only sell it for adult use.

I cannot guarantee sterility of earring posts/hooks/wires (and/or other pieces where this may be an issue). Please purchase and use at your own risk.

May try to sell you work your ring doesn't need! Be on your guard, refer to Item Details for info re: prongs and bands.

Colors may display inaccurately on screens.
RING SIZES are approximate, due to jewelers' ring sizing mandrels not being completely standardized.

STONE SIZES are necessarily estimates, because in most cases, I cannot measure the depth of a stone due to its being in a setting. I measure the diameter (or length and width) of a stone with digital calipers, and estimate its carat weight from its span.

BANGLE SIZE: Please note the inner diameter for the bangle. I suggest you cut out a mock-up on sturdy cardboard to see how it will fit you before ordering.
The outer packaging is discreet, nobody will know there is jewelry inside.

I do not use my shop name on the return address; this is for the item's safety in transit and for privacy on arrival, as jewelry items are often bought as gifts.

Pieces are sent in small carton boxes tied with rustic string, or cushioned inside handmade wrapping paper gift bags.
