You are looking at two prints, Double Moon, that are sold as a pair. The print on your right, is the first print using the packaging from gampi rice paper as the substrate with a pressed leaf to create the botanical silhouette. The lighter image on the left, is the second printing—you can see the details of the leaves. The process is called gelatin monotyping. I cooked up a batch of plain gelatin (convoy me if you want the recipe and directions). Once the slab sets you ink it up like any other printing plate and you can take paint away or block it (in this case with a coaster I pressed in to get the moon and a pressed leaf for the botanical delight). The second print is on the actual Japanese rice paper, not its outer package. Each circle measure 7 1/2 inches.

Here's a blog some friends of mine put up about a gelatin fun day we had. You'll recognize my living room : )
