This postcard was once given to my Great Grandfather when he was a child. I love this card. Very unique. It must have been before they knew that Santa uses a SLEIGH with Reindeer! This Santa has a look on his face that gives me a chuckle. He's pretty serious looking about getting those toys in his sack delivered at any cost on that old toboggan!

The card sentiment: A Joyful Christmas. No post mark. Grandpa's name written on the back in pencil from his sister.

Card series on the front is 4700.

This card was in a box of belongings from Great Grandmother. I have oodles of cards that I'm posting on etsy, so continue to check my shoppe often! They are all from the time period of 1908 to 1915.

Grandma kept everything, including this old newspaper clipping (not included) about One Cent to ship postcards to most destinations via the postal service. Mail was the most inexpensive way to let your friends and family know you were well and pass on additional news like a birth in the family! Postcards were very popular communication during the early 1900's! And why not make it pretty, too?!.....Postcards came in a lovely variety of beauty! Just imagine how exciting it would be to receive such a pretty postcard! (See full newspaper clipping by clicking on the photo of the clipping in this listing. Click on it again to enlarge!)

This card's condition is good. It has slightly bumped corners, but no tears. Appears to have once been kept in an album by the appearance of the corners.

(Please double click to enlarge all my photos to view close-ups). This postcard is a genuine beauty!

Grandma kept everything and I can't enjoy it all.....so I'll share with you on GreenGablesLane!

Best Wishes,
