A super-rare book “The Rembrandt Drawings and Etchings” with Critical Reassignments to Pupils and Followers, by John C. Van Dyke. Copyright 1927 by Charles Scribner’s Sons. The book says that “this edition is limited to 1200 copies printed from type afterward distributed.” The book includes 48 plates, with each plate including 4 paintings, etchings, or drawings. This book is a follow up to Van Dyke’s 1923 Rembrandt book, which created quite a controversy in the art world.

Large format, the book measures approximately 12 1/2" x 10" and has 147 pages. It is in very good condition for its age, with tight binding. The cover has some soiling, and the spine is just a tad sun faded. When the book is closed, the page edges have some foxing and a couple of small spots. The interior is clean. The front end paper is split at the spine, but I would not call it a cracked hinge.
