Spectral Mesh is a video synthesizer inspired by scan processors of the past such as the Rutt/Etra (https://vimeo.com/7517418) and Scanimate (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1aT_CqhyQs). Like those video synths the Spectral Mesh can take in a video feed and then smoothly (or harshly!) displace it in perceived video space either using the brightness value of the video input and/or using several on board oscillators. Unlike those synths this is capable of outputting full color video either thru sd analog composite NTSC or PAL or through HDMI at 720x480 and one can select a variety of different geometrical representations for the video to be mapped onto. Spectral Mesh allows you to take in video via class compliant usb camera sources or in the CAPTURE EDITION sd analog video via rca, s video or component inputs, luma key out either black or white portions of the feed, select brightness to x/y displacement amounts and angles, and then use the 3 onboard LFOs to smoothly (or discontinuously!) stretch, fold, warp, bend, and compress the video in space! This is a unique tool for turning any video into abstract landscapes and strange pulsing alien life forms.
