Ivica Vidović Art Print – Servantes Naše Malo Misto – Don Quixote Tribute Portrait
This small-format art print portrays the unforgettable Ivica Vidović as Servantes, a beloved character from the cult Yugoslav TV series Naše malo misto. In the show, Servantes — whose real name is Antonio Puhalovich — is a poetic soul who returns from Chile to a small Dalmatian town, where he dedicates his days to translating Don Quixote.
The portrait captures both the absurd heroism and quiet dignity of this character. As in the series, Servantes dies tragically trying to save his life's work — the translations no one believed were real. In a touching scene that follows, the town doctor tells his wife: “Who in this world can kill Don Quixote, huh?”
This piece is a tribute not only to the character but also to the timeless themes of idealism, art, and silent rebellion.
