This listing is for one oil painting.

This gorgeous little oil painting is actually from an original set of 8 that I received as a gift from a friend years ago. They had been her grandmother's paintings.

A local antique dealer states that the original set of 8 was worth about $500 as a set and they were probably painted in the 1960s, but the paintings may be even older than that. I'm selling them separately for $34.97each. If you are interested in the last set of four, please contact me and we may be able to work something out. Please see my other listings for the other three paintings.

This is a beautiful still life oil painting with the back of the frame stamped "Made in France." Artist name is hard to discern, but is something like "Surgeon." See the lower right corner for more information on the signature.

The artist was quite talented, I think, as these are sweet little still life paintings of daisies, roses, tulips, and poppies. This particular painting features several colors of poppies.

All of the paintings I have are numbered on the back in black paint and have a stamp (or possibly hand lettered?) with "Made in France" on the back of the frame. This is a real oil painting. I work in oil paints so I am familiar with the medium. The paint was very dry so I used some linseed oil to restore some of the oil paint's lustre. Ask an artist friend to help with this process if you wish to add more oil, as you do not want to damage the paint.

This painting is numbered #61.

The frame is hand painted in flat, speckled off-white paint with a green outer border. A line of gold paint is between the off-white and the green on the frame. The outer frame of each one is measured to be 9.25 inches by 7.75 inches.

There are slight imperfections in the frames of all of these paintings, from age, but they are ready to hang on your wall, as they would look superb in a foyer or bedroom. Buy several of them or the whole set to create a collage on a large wall!
