Dresden Plate Variation
Block Size: 10” Quilt Size: 34” x 34”
Gather your bright and happy reproduction 1930s prints to stitch this easy and fun variation on the Dresden Plate block. The dresden plate wedges are quick cut from strips and sewn in a clever way to form the end points without needle turn appliqué.
The entire quilt is stitched by machine, though hand appliqué is certainly a stitching option. This makes a delightful child’s quilt or even a wall quilt for bringing a smile all year long.
The 6 page pdf is for the 4 block quilt as shown in blue. But I have made this several times with more blocks and black background. The very first one I made was inspired by a vintage Amish quilt.

I love this pattern so vintage. using my 1930 reproduction prints.
I will respond again when I make the quilt. Directions look very well detailed. I have taken in person classes with Debby Kratovil. Debbie is an excellent teacher. Her teaching method is why I chose to purchase this pattern. My cousin chose the Gees Bend quilt for her gift from me.
I'm making a baby quilt from this pattern using the four square blocks. While not my own style, the couple is very happy with it
This pattern has excellent photos and tutorials. I am making a quilt for my adult daughter who loves birds and has many in her yard. I love the variety of house shapes that comes with this purchase!
