Kali, known as Troma Nagmo in Tibet, is the primary deity of the Buddhist Nyingma Chod practice, the Great Wrathful Mother of compassion and perfect wisdom. She is the wrathful form of Prajnaparamita, the Queen of all Buddhas. Her wrathfulness expresses the intensity of her compassion for all beings, and burns through illusion. She is the epitome of "tough love".
She is huge, vast as space. She represents uncertainty as well as potentiality. The boar in her hair symbolizes wisdom’s conquest over delusion. She dances surrounded by the flames of pure awareness, and she steps on the heart of a human corpse, representing her conquest over ignorance and delusion. Her flayed human skin represents her control over harmful demons and the spirits that cause disease. Her thighbone trumpet terrifies evil spirits and makes them powerless. Her garland of severed heads represents her conquest over egotistical thought.
Ω≈★≈Ω NOTE: Sizes are approximate. Please wait to buy a frame until you have the art in hand. Framed examples included in listing images are included to give you ideas on how you might frame your purchase, but I don't sell framed prints unless one is specifically listed on a drop down menu.
Ω≈★≈Ω A WORD ABOUT ARCHIVAL GICLÉE PRINTS : Artwork is scanned via what looks like a really big "camera"/computer and then printed with a sophisticated inkjet printer, which is 6 feet wide, onto artists' archival heavyweight watercolor paper. This makes the most crisp accurate print available in fine art printing technology. People often mistake the prints for actual paintings.
