*** PLEASE NOTE: this listing is reserved and not for sale***

The Republican poet William Blake (1757-1827) was once struck by a vision of a tree filled with angels, while walking on Peckham Rye common. When I lived close to the Rye, I would often walk on the common and think of Blake and his tree - this model was the result.

The tree itself is made from the dried root of a bush of thyme, encased in a fabric I made up using dried seaweed, which has a bark-like texture. The tree's roots are fixed into a found piece of eucalyptus bark, which forms a natural plinth.

The foliage is a mass of dried leaves from the Pepal tree (under which Buddha is said to have gained enlightenment on seeing the morning star), onto which I have stitched vintage scraps of green materials, embellished with silver and gilt-thread so that the whole glistens in certain lights.

The angels in the boughs are hand stitched from raw silk and Japanese mulberry tissue with gold and silver paper inclusions and delicately cut tracing paper wings.

This original tree stands approximately 1.5 ft tall by 16" wide.

Price and postage are simply a guideline for models of this scale.

Bought as a gift and both the recipient and myself love it! It was packaged safely, there was no way this was getting damaged. Joanna was lovely and kept my updated with my order and was always very polite and a pleasure to buy from.

The print itself is lovely, it just so happens that the hare looks just like the recipient's own pet hare and the woman looks like her which is a personal bonus! It is of lovely quality and it being embroidered gives it a depth that normal prints don't have.

I would definitely recommend buying from Rommany, thank you!

Shipping:

I take great care to pack items safely. I try to package using recycled materials. Models tend to be held within their box by a harness to minimise movement in transit and come with instructions for releasing them safely from their container. Prints and paintings are shipped flat in acid-free tissue inside a cello bag, held within rigid boards. Cards are shipped flat inside a cello bag, held within stiff card.

Orders ship from London, usually on a Friday, to the address listed in your PayPal payment. I send you two Etsy convos, one to acknowledge your order, one to let you know when your item has shipped and the approximate date you can expect delivery.

American buyers please note that I require your full nine-digit zip code (five digits followed by a hyphen and four further digits). As orders sent to America with only five digit codes run the risk of being sent back to Britain, I can only send items to America once I have received a full zip code. If your full zip code isn't registered in your PayPal address, I would be grateful if you could convo me with the full information along with your order.

Shipping within Britain:

All models are sent special delivery and I will provide you with a tracking number. Items totalling £50 or more are also sent special delivery. Items other than models totalling less than £50 are sent first-class signed for, except cards, which are sent first class.

International Shipping:

All models are sent International Tracked Insured and Signed for. This service tracks the model to its destination and insures for loss or damage. I will provide you with the tracking number. Items other than models to the value of £50 or more are also sent International Tracked Insured and Signed for. Items other than models to the value of less than £50 are sent by Royal Mail Standard Airmail.

If you buy several items and are charged postage on each item, but I am able to send your items in one parcel, I will always refund the difference on the postage via PayPal.

If shipping to your destination isn't available on a listing, but you would like the correct postage to be listed, simply convo me and I will provide the correct postage details.

International Customs:

Duties, taxes and customs clearance fees are the responsiblity of the cutomer.

Australian and New Zealand buyers please note that due to organic inclusions, unfortunately most of my models are not eligible to clear Australian or New Zealand customs. I aim to note any such inclusions in my listings information, but if you are in any doubt, simply convo me to check before purchasing.
