These distinct salt and pepper mills were designed by Richard Nissen and were created by Bodum in Denmark. They are sturdy ‘n’ solid, and are a pleasure to hold. The orb is made from beechwood, and has a tactile iron ring at the top. At the bottom, the pepper mill features a metal Bodum grinder, while the salt mill has a plastic grinder.

The pepper mill is in excellent used condition, the iron ring and grinder look and work fine and there are no significant scratches or dents to the wood. The iron ring and grinder also work fine on the salt mill, and the wood is also in fine shape, but the paint has flecked in a couple places on the ring revealing the iron beneath. The salt mill also features a dot of white paint previous owner put on the ring to designate it from the pepper without flipping it over. The metal center knob on the plastic grinder of the salt mill also appears to have a very subtle green oxidation to it.

Nissen was a fine designer of pepper mills and many of his designs are more and more often collected right alongside the ever popular Dansk Quistgaard mills of the time. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring some simplicity to your daily grind. Approx 4”x3” diameter
