Tweet tweet so sweet and nostalgic! A beautiful example of antique craft art.

I love the colors in this piece - Robins egg blue, shades of pinks, cheery red and grass green. Red embroidery thread is the accent color used in the crochet work to piece the paper cards together. Eight pieces are worked together with different scenes on opposite sides so 16 scenes total. The outside of the cards are covered with flexible plastic

Some of the scenes include little bluebirds carrying notes and roses on the inside lid, apple blossoms surrounding birds in their nests, birds singing around a birdhouse, two red birds huddled together on a brass door knock, a bird inside a mailbox with a Merry Christmas greeting, and birds sitting and happily singing on a staff of notes and cleft.

Many of these boxes were used for sewing items but they work well to store anything light weight. A great decor piece for the coming Christmas season or present as a gift and fill it with your favorite batch of cookies. The possibilities for gift giving are numerous.

Condition: very good to excellent. No yellowing of the plastic. One of the best I've seen from this era. There is just a slight water mark that can be seen on one of the outside scenes.

Measures approximately 9" x 8" x 4.5".

Weights approximately 3.2 ounces.
