6.5 x 4" - Signed and dated.

This is my new gentler "lava" mix, with yellow, red and saffron. I have come to enjoy the "chimney" (or "keyhole") shape of late for the earthy, organic lines and enhanced stability.

As with all my work, this began in a tank of molten clear glass at lava temperatures (2100ºF). Color application and shaping all occurred somewhere between 1000º and 2000º. (All hot glass - no paint.)

This color mix seems to work equally well back-lit or spot-lit, making it suitable for display in a variety of locations.

This vase is well-travelled! I took it on a Nevada trip to photograph it in the remote wilderness that inspires me. (The fourth image was taken at Soldier Meadows Guest Ranch and features the Black Rock Range as a backdrop.)
