Description
Instructions on how to make your very own behind the couch console table. These plans will detail my process and materials I used in making a custom console table to fit behind my couch. These plans can guide you in your process to build your own. While everyone's couches are different, the concept is the same. The only thing you need to change are the height and width according to your needs! Plans are easy to follow and easy to read with images, labels, and text.
Tools needed: Saw (circular saw makes cutting easy, but a handsaw works too), tape measure, wood glue, pencil.
Cost of materials: Around $20

Easy to follow instructions. I completed the whole project for around $30. It took about 3-4 hours total over 3 days (including staining and sealing the wood). I made it only 6” deep, with 3” legs to be as narrow as possible. It works great for the couch/layout I have. I used solid maple bought at Home Depot, a circular saw & jigsaw, 220 grit sandpaper, mahogany gel stain and wipe-on poly.
