In this melange of rustic Victorian handicrafts, Adirondack style and folk art ambiance a mosaic of pine cone scales covers a wooden star accented with rusty bottle caps at the terminations. The central focus is a shrine like shadowbox enclosing a tiny porcelain fae with mica encased butterfly wings who hovers over a miniature garden of lichen, ferns, moss, poppy pods, a snail shell and a vintage button. The shrine was created from a sardine can with walls of notched wood taken from vintage clothes pins. The entire piece measures 37 centimeters high by 35 centimeters wide (approximately 15 x 14 inches) and is wired ready for hanging. (The detail photo is actually larger than life size).
