"There is not one blade of grass, there is no color in this world that is not intended to make us rejoice." - John Calvin

Speaking of rejoicing in color, we'd like to offer you this antique Putnam Fadeless Dyes counter display. This display cabinet is crafted from wood and covered with litho print tin. The front is slanted and hinged at the top, allowing the viewer to observe the advertisment when the lid is down, or the dye packs when the lid is up. The inside features 24 wooden slots for the dyes (each labelled with the specific name of the dye). The back side also features the same design as the front. On the inside portion of the lid, there is a detailed list of dye colors as well as instructions on how to use the dyes. It is seriously cool!!!

This specific print is somewhat rare - it is more common to see display cabinets for "Putnam Fadeless Dyes and Tints" than it is to see one without the "tints." In perfect condition, these cabinets retail from anywhere from $250 - $500. The reason this cabinet is so much more - well - reasonable, is the condition. The front and back both have significant rust spots (though the front is much more well-preserved than the back). The tin is chipping off at the bottons, and a lot of the color labels are missing. While the condition may be a detraction to a die-hard collector, we actually think the condition is part of the charm. The colors are still bright, and the front is legible. The unit is still assembled, and the patina gives this piece so much character! You can almost imagine its history, sitting on the counter of a general store in the 1930s.

Another fantastic feature is that this case still contains some of the original dye packs (though there are also a couple miscellaneous brands represented, too!). The cabinet is 11 1/4 inches tall, 7 3/4 inches wide (at its widest), and 15 1/4 inches long.

Whether you are looking for an AMAZING conversation piece or simply collect items of American history, this cabinet is for you!
