Superwash on Sale! Was $44.00, now $33.00.

Dusk is the end of twilight. There is civil dusk (when the sun is six degrees below the horizon), which is the end of civil twilight (when you can’t read outside without artificial light), and there is nautical twilight, and astronomical twilight. Who knew that naming yarns would lead to such esoteric knowledge? This yarn is made up of dark blues, greens, and purples. It was dyed by Carol Lee at Sheep Shed Studio.

If you need additional yardage in this colorway, the companion yarn "Dusk Light Too" offers a further 380 yards.

This listing is for one 2-ply skein, with a weight of 5.2 oz., spun at an average of 1350 ypp (yards per pound). The yardage for the skein is approximately 440 yards.

This is a slightly stiff yarn which is very forgiving for non-expert knitters, though it might be inappropriate for very sensitive skin. The yarn wraps at 10-12, and is approximately a DK weight.

See my Store Policy FAQs section for further knitting gauge suggestions for various yard weights, a bit about sheep breeds and yarn softness and care instructions for different fibers.

My skeins are wound on a full 2-yard niddy-noddy. If you don’t have a large swift, let me know. Spun in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home.
