This is a very pretty art deco era ring crafted of solid platinum and featuring some very nice old diamonds.

The center stone is an early old European cut diamond that is very fiery! It actually seems to be a stone with characteristics of both an old European cut and an old mine cut...it's slightly cushion shape though that is not easy to see without magnification. The diamond is approximately 3.4 mm in diameter and is estimated to be approximately .17 carats. It is lively and bright and estimated to be H in color. (near colorless) I would say it is in the SI1-SI2 range -completely eye clean but there is a chip that is seen under a loupe and a few very small clear inclusions under higher magnification. Nothing that can be seen by the naked eye, but I am keeping the price on the low side because of the chip. It's near one of the prongs and I have tried to take a photo for you to see it under 12x magnification. (it's shown in the last photo)

The diamond is held by four prongs in a pretty 4 x 4 mm square setting that still has some of the old milgrain work visible. On either side of the central diamond is a pretty marquise shaped setting holding another sparkling old European cut diamond. Each small diamond is approximately 1.8 mm in diameter They are both very eye-clean and white and very clean under my loupe. The rise from the finger is approximately 4 mm at the highest point...so it has a nice, relatively low profile.

Additionally, there are some very pretty engraved details on each shoulder (with some wear)and a little milgrain work on the gallery of the ring to finish off the detail work. Very pretty!

The inside of the band is marked "10% iridium plat." which indicates that this ring was made with an iridium/platinum alloy. This is a very good alloy that is not used today very often because of the cost. It makes for a very strong and bright platinum. The band is strong and substantial with only the slightest indication that it was probably sized once. (but done very well)

The ring is currently a dainty size of 4.25 but could be sized by a jeweler, if desired....I would estimate it could probably go up at least 2 sizes with no problems, and probably three sizes would be ok, too. The overall weight is 3.3 grams..

With the exception of the chip to the diamond mentioned above, this ring is in very good vintage condition and would make a lovely engagement ring or even just a special ring to enjoy for any occasion!

Please convo with any questions and Thanks for looking!
