Flowing mane and open spaces intertwine beautifully conveying both the motion and stillness that is the horse. The flowing energy cowboy sculptor Tolley Marney infuses into his forged steel sculptures is reminiscent of horses running in the wind.

Tolley also shoes horses and made this sculpture out of a combination of used horseshoes that he collects from the horses he shoes and reclaimed steel. He formed the mane of used horseshoes that intertwine in lyrical patterns. The solid areas also include horseshoes he as heated to red hot then hammered into strips. Added to the artistry is the romance of the trail. The horseshoes Tolley uses have traveled the high desert and mountain trails of the American Southwest.

The steel base is a piece of railroad steel salvaged from an old railroad track.
