Peter and Charlotte were painted by Sidney Bell [1888-1964]. The pair of pictures were considered Bell's most popular work in it's day and is still popular today. The picture is in a 7" x 6", 1 1/4" deep, square shadow box frame in muted gold. The inside has an oval opening for the picture of Peter. It has beaded design on the inside. In the picture, Peter has pink cheeks and lips a light blue collar, and blonde hair. The colors are very soft. The back of the frame is a black leatherette with the original foil sticker saying "Look"s Lancaster, Pa." The framer was C & A Richards of Boston, Mass. The overall condition is very good. The frame is solid with some marks. the back is in very good condition and has not been removed. I have dated this piece of art to 1923 according to internet resources. Charlote is also for sale in my webstore on Etsy. VintagExcitement.
