This listing is for 3 Apothecary bottle. What a treasure these bottles are. Marked "T.C.W. Co. USA 2 made by the Wheaton Glass Company of Millville, NJ, this mark was used prior to 1946. The company was begun by a pharmacist who needed containers for his drugs and could not find ones suitable for his needs. Amber was used for light sensitive mixtures. Glass containers then became his main business since there was little available to suit the needs of a pharmacist. New Jersey was the first state to make glass, utilizing the abundance of sand. Can you imagine stuff coming in these awesome bottles instead of plastic? Oh, the good old days!
The bottle measures 7 inches high by 3 inches across. The ground glass stopper is still attached with the original strings. I am sure these bottles were never used.
Great for collectors of all types.
I have 3 bottles available.
