This is a wonderful mid-century modern modular serving and chafing dish set. Impressively sized. Super for brunches or buffets!

Eight pieces -- Six main pieces plus one glass tea light cup and one perforated metal heat diffuser. The entire assemblage stacks nested for storage. Each stainless steel dish has the "Made in Denmark" "Stainless Steel" mark which I have researched but have not been able to associate with any particular manufacturer.

Larger tray: 14 3/8" x 11 7/8" x about 1" height
Smaller tray: 13 3/8" x 10 7/8" x 1 1/4" height.

Warming Baskets: each: 8 7/8" diameter; 2 1/2" tall.

Stainless Serving Bowls: each 8 3/8" diameter x 9 1/4" diameter across handle sides x 1 3/4" tall

Candle glass: 1 1/4" tall x 1 15/16" diameter across top (has cuff of glass) x 1 5/8" diameter of the outside bottom of the glass.

Perforated ring: 5 7/8" diameter; large central perforation is 1 3/4" diameter

The pieces are in nice vintage condition. Some scuffs here and there, but very attractive. The pieces all appear to have been gently used and cared for.

Isn't it going to be Party Time sometime soon in *your* life?

Long detailed stuff about how these fit together:

Looking at how pieces fit together, it appears it can be used in several different arrangements. There are two trays of graduated sizes, eadh of slightly different design, with teak handles on the sides; two identical warming baskets, two identical stainless steel serving bowls with handles, one tea light glass, and one heat-diffusing ring. Here is some detail on the pieces and possible arrangements:

1. Two graduated-size black-enameled steel trays with inset wells and elegant teak side handles. One tray is a bit larger than the other. The smaller tray has a double well and an aperture in the center (see photo) for the votive candle or tea light. Both trays have a slot on one side.

2. Each black enamel & teak tray holds either a) one of two round stainless steel serving bowls with flat handles, directly set on the tray's well, or b) one of the two black-enameled steel warming baskets set into the tray's well.

3. The black-enameled steel warming baskets fit on top of the trays and each hold one of the 2 stainless steel serving bowls which have self-handles. Each warming basket has six small soft rubbery black feet. The walls of each warming basket are pierced with a ring of vertical ventilation slots. The floor of each warming basket has a black steel retaining ring that would keep a tea light candle in a glass centered. One tea light candle glass with heat diffusing ring is included. There is a bit of candle in the glass. I would not advise using either warming basket(s) without a glass candle cup.

4. The smaller tray is interesting because it seems as if it can be used in 3 ways. It can sit under one of the serving dishes. You also can put a black warming basket on it and set a serving dish on that. The other thing I noticed is that the double well and center aperture on this tray let you sit the tray *on top of* a warming basket, letting the warming effect rise through the tray to the serving dish on top.

5. One or both sets can be used to serve a cool dish.

6. The stainless steel bowls can be used for warming and serving independently of any other pieces. They also fit nicely into the trays' wells, eliminating the need for the raised basket if a lower height for your table is what you have in mind.

Idea: You might set up just one tray/basket/serving dish with the votive light and heat-diffusing disk for service, and keep the second stainless steel bowl in your warming oven to replace the first dish during your party or event. At the same time yu could use the second tray with its black enameled basket lined with a linen napkin to hold pita sections, rolls, crackers, rusks, etc. to go with what's bubbling warm in the matching chafing setup.
