This poodle is one of my new series of jewelry featuring hand-sawn computer circuit boards. As a veteran of many Silicon Valley start-ups, I love the idea of merging art and technology...and this series of jewelry does just that! Coupled with my love of dogs (especially Dachshunds)...the result is this happy and heartwarming pendant.
I sawed the form out of the circuit board using a jeweler's saw. The piece was then encased and domed in jewelry-grade crystal resin, which brightens, encases and slightly magnifies the layers, giving the pendant depth and additional visual interest.
The silver hanging bail is epoxied onto the back, and the pendant comes very strong woven black cord, finished with a silver-plated lobster claw clasp. The necklace itself is 16" with an extension chain that allows you to adjust the necklace up to a max of 18" and vary the drape of the pendant depending on your specific outfit.
The pendant is 1 ½" wide and about 2 ¼" tall from head to foot.
