Please find for sale a beautiful little art nouveau or art deco German trinket box. It has an engine turned and enamelled lid, a technique which is called guilloche enamelling. The box itself is made from brass.

The inside of the lid is marked Germany, we believe that this box was made between 1900 and 1930. The border around the guilloche enamelling, with its wavy lines and dots is very much in the jugendstil and secessionist style. Polished circles in the brass on the inside of the lid and the base of the box, catch the light and are very pleasing to the eye.

The box is in good vintage condition but there are some scratches to the enamel on the lid and the finish on the ouside of the box shows some wear. There are numerous scratches and marks throughout which are consistent with age and use.

We think that this ornate little box would make a great place to keep that special pair of earrings or keepsake!
