SALE was $150! Vintage Old Forester Bourbon Bottle/Flask with personalized leather label which reads- "Especially for George Humphrey"

7 1/4" Tall x 6" wide with a 2 1/2" thickness. This OLD bottle is heavy and really beautiful for many reasons... According to the Brand Manager for Old Forester, Joe Murray, “Old Forester still lives... over 135 years since its inception and is proud to be the only bourbon produced before, during and after Prohibition.”

Old Forester Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey bottle made of thick brown glass with a leather label on the front. No back labels or wax seal but some wax residue on neck. Bottle has a cork stuck in the mouth and a very tiny sticker on the neck that reads "88827478." The bottom of the bottle reads as follows -" Federal Law forbids Sale or re-use of this bottle." There are also the following numbers on the bottom centered in the middle, D-10, 65-86, and a capital I with an oval around it (photo 5.) There is a smallish chip underneath the bottle lip and a tiny chip on the top lip and a few other minor scratches on the backside that you hardly notice except when scrutinizing. The leather label on the front is slightly torn off at the top and there is small wrinkle running through the name George Humphrey as seen in photo, so please look closely before buying. I can send other pics as well if you need more.

My digging has turned up that this bottle was made around 1933 because of the warning on the bottom concerning re-use. This is most likely a post-prohibition prescription bottle/flask prescribed by many Doctors of the time for all sorts of illnesses! Dr.'s loved that Old Forester bottles were sealed thus ensuring the quality of the product inside for their patients. Basically, if a "patient" received an Old Forester bottle, with the wax seal in place, they knew it was as pure as when the Brown Brothers (makers of Old F.) bottled it at their distillery in Kentucky. If you know anything else about this bottle and care to share, please convo me!
