The intriguing Phaistos Disk was originally a round, clay tablet, covered with signs and glyphs on both sides, found in Crete at the early part of the 20th century.

This unique and mysterious disk depicts a syllabic script dating back to the late second millennium BC. Just like Linear B was a mystery, no one has yet been able to decipher its text.

It may contain an ancient Minoan or Mycenean Crete script. Minoan Crete was a nature and goddess loving culture. The palace at Knossos is a homage to the natural world.

********About this piece
The metal Phaistos Disk is cast lead-free pewter with the script design incised on front and back. Size - 1.25" diameter. Hole will accomodate a 1-2mm cord.
