Tom and Susan
(96 pages)
©1951 by Scott, Foresman and Company

by Paul R. Hanna and Genevieve Anderson Hoyt. William S. Gray reading director. Illustrated by Ruth Steed

This is a delightful book. It is the primer in the social studies curriculum, to be used alongside the Dick and Jane series of readers. Vocabulary is correlated. Family is Tom, Susan, Mother, Father and Jip. Jack, Baby and Susan are here too. Love the one where Father brings home a popcorn maker and all the family gather round to see it work! (Jip eats the popcorn as it flies out!) Very dated illustrations

21 wonderful stories including

Something for the Family
See What I Can Make
Animal Cookies
The Chicken Farm
Away in the Red Car
... and more!

Condition is Very Good. Cover shows normal wear including rubbing to edges and bumps. School stamps inside. Occasional smudge, cornerfold or edgetear but I checked every page and its a great copy. No major flaws.

Be sure to check out my Dick and Jane section for more from this series!
