This listing is for a map of the Alps region from a 1909 Italian Atlas. The map includes 5 insets: a large one of the height and depth of the lakes and 4 smaller ones of isotherms in different months. Text in Italian.

Each plate of this Atlas is beautifully colored, with many details. The Atlas itself is a delightful little book that was probably brought here by Italian inmigrants. At the time of publication many Italian families were migrating from Europe to America and the main ports of arrival were New York in the US and Buenos Aires and Montevideo in South America.

Size: 14,5" by 10.5" (including borders)

Perfect to frame and hang on the wall.

CONDITION: This plate is in good vintage condition. It was folded in three and there is light line and small tears (on the margin) where it was folded. The paper shows its age and it has some foxing that doesn't affect the beauty of the image. Please look at the photos carefully. Colors may vary due to monitor settings.

The back is blank but has some text written with pencil that could be erased. I decided to leave it as is because in away it shows its history.

Sent to you in a flat envelope, folded in three (as it was in the original Atlas) protected with a cello sleeve and cardboard.

This is an ORIGINAL, not a reproduction.
