This monotype print was produced using leaves from an endangered species. Don’t worry!!! It is a deciduous tree that looses it’s leaves every year. Plymouth Pear is Britain’s only native species of pear. There are only two wild trees growing at secret locations in Devon hedgerows. There are also specimen trees growing in just a few towns. I collected the leaves used to create this print from outside the maternity wing of a hospital in Plymouth that was purchasing a whole corridor’s worth of my artwork. The leaves are much smaller and daintier than cultivated pears and the tree produces ‘crab apple’ sized pears.

This is the second of twelve prints printed on one day. The detail of a print actually being pulled may of one of the other Plymouth Pear prints done that day. The photograph of the print in a frame is only there as a ‘seving suggestion’ to show the framing style I usually use with my prints I do not use window mounts (mats). I will only ship prints unframed.

Plymouth Pear II is a hand pulled print with oil based printing ink on 100% cotton, 300grm Somerset Velvet paper. The print is signed numbered in pencil. 1 / 1 means it’s a one of a kind.

All my prints are hand pulled by me. (Although I also print for other people)

Image = 19.5cm x 19.5cm; 7 ¾ x 7 ¾ inches
Paper size = 25.5cm x 25.5cm; approx 10 x 10 inches

This artwork was conceived and created solely as an original fine art print. Unlike a gicleé print or any other computer print out, none of my prints are reproductions of a pre-existing painting or drawing .

I like to use top quality heavy weight paper this one is Somerset 100% cotton, Velvet, 300grm so It is best not to roll up prints for posting, especially when the printing process results in a fair amount of embossing. I will therefore only ship my prints flat and protected with card.
