This was the clay and glaze combination that changed the direction of my pottery about a decade ago -- that warm red with the satin feel and those waterfalls of gold flowing across it. Then suddenly, about 7 years ago I was unable to use the combination. Overnight the glaze stopped working on stoneware.

Hallelujah! Because of a chance conversation with a fellow potter, I finally figured out that, counter to what seemed plausible, it was the stoneware clay I was using that was causing all my problems.

Though this new stoneware looks the same as my old (if you look at the raw clay bottom), It allows me to again use this wonderful sunburst glaze combination again.

For yet more contrast, I used one of my bisqued stamps and followed the slip-trailed line -- making a pattern of cascading leaves swirling toward the bowl's center. That visual play will keep you intrigued for a lifetime of serving salads and pastas or anything else you can fit in this generous 15 inch diameter bowl.

As with all my pottery, shipping is included in the price. Sorry, but I do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

Thanks for looking at my pottery! John
