Spectacular early 1960s 2-piece party dress set from American couturier Arnold Scaasi! The deep red silk chiffon skirt is complemented by the fabulous raised floral tapestry brocade bodice and bolero jacket in browns, grayish blue and red with a beige/tan background. The dress is styled with a deep seductive plunging scoop tapestry bodice that curves down the sides. From the bodice flows the very full gathered deep red silk double layered chiffon skirt. The bodice is darted and lined with red silk chiffon and the skirt is lined with thin silk. Dress closes with a hidden back metal zipper and top eye/hook.

The ¾ length cropped bolero jacket is made of the same tapestry brocade as the dress bodice and is also lined with red silk chiffon! Dress is tagged “Scaasi-boutique for Martini” along with a union tag and a dated style tag that reads “AUG 26, 1963!” I was told this dress set had belonged to Liberaci’s neice!

*Pictured with crinoline underneath – not included in sale*
**Red is deeper in person. Pictures are slightly saturated**

Condition: Near excellent! There is a small tear in the chiffon skirt at hem, a few minor snags and the lightest pink hue under the armpits.

Dress Size: Bust measures 34” around (can accommodate a larger cup size). Waist measures 26” around. Hips are free. From shoulder seam to hem, dress measures approximately 39” to side hem and 40.5” to center hem of skirt.

Bolero Jacket Size: Open sizing as the jacket is left open without closures. From back neckline to hem, bolero jacket measures approximately 16.5” in length.
